Organization Overview:
The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) is a national not-for-profit organization founded in 1994 by Harvard Business School professor Michael Porter to drive inclusive economic prosperity in under-resourced communities through innovative research and programs to create jobs, income, and wealth for local residents. Informed by our research, ICIC has developed and supported highly effective initiatives for underserved businesses to meet entrepreneurs’ most pressing needs. Position Description:
The Development Manager is responsible for leading individual giving efforts for ICIC. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and qualifying potential individual donors (including from ICIC’s program alumni) as well as creating and implementing outreach strategies for them. In addition, the development manager will lead donor stewardship and renewal activities for our existing portfolio of individual contributors. The development manager will craft and execute annual small dollar donor campaigns for individuals and program alumni, as well as completing other ad hoc projects as needed. The manager will have a high degree of comfort and facility with data management and will ensure donor data is captured accurately, comprehensively, and with discretion. This position reports to the Director of Development and works closely with ICIC’s CEO and management team.
Collectively, the development team is responsible for securing approximately $8M in annual funding from corporate, foundation, and individual sources. ICIC is a growing organization with ambitious goals for which additional financial support is required. Our current individual giving portfolio is comprised of ~70 donors who contribute ~$1M annually to ICIC.

Salary: The salary range is 100K-105K and will be commensurate with the candidate's experience. ICIC takes into account factors such as candidate experience, skills, training, and internal team equity.
