Apply Description Under supervision, the Purchasing Coordinator / Surgical Technician orders all supplies used at the center at the best possible price. Maintains all equipment and is responsible for all repair requests. Order medical gases. Responsible for making sure all logbooks are properly maintained. The purchasing coordinator assists with AAAHC accreditation. On occasion, may be asked to assist in the operating room.Essential Functions:Orders all supplies in a timely fashion.Checks on all back orders; substitutes materials as needed.Responsible for maintaining storeroom.Responsible for overseeing and keeping all log books up to date.Performs monthly fire alarm testing.Participates in AAAHC survey.Maintains equipment and repairs; arranges for loaners when needed.Identifies problems and makes recommendations for changes.Promotes cost-effectiveness by discouraging waste.Assists with periodic inventories.Maintains and updates vendor, contact and price files up to date.Processes all returns; tracks credits due.Operating Room Duties (10% or less of time): Assists in care and service to the patient in the operating room under the supervision of the registered nurse. Assists in the preparation and maintenance of sterile and un-sterile supplies and equipment. Performs duties of the scrub nurse as assigned.Perform all other duties as assigned Requirements Job SpecificationsTypically has the following skills or abilities:Two years of procurement experience One year of experience in an operating room Experience in a variety of surgical proceduresStrong computer skills, including MS Office SuiteOrganizational skills and good judgmentBasic math skillsStrong analytical skillsAbility to prioritize workDetail-oriented and accuratePreferred Skills Graduate of a recognized surgical technologist programCertification by the American Association of Surgical Technologist #LI-HYBRIDThe compensation range for the role is listed below. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
