Apply Job Type Full-time Description The RN PACU/Pre-op admission plans and delivers safe, comprehensive, and compassionate nursing care for the ambulatory surgery patient immediately before and following surgery and/or anesthesia. He/she is also responsible for the thorough preparation of the patient/family for discharge to the home environment.Essential FunctionsSupervise LPNs, CNAs, and ancillary personnel working in the areaMaintain effective working relationships with patients, families, co-workers, physicians, and all other department personnelInitiate physical and psychological patient assessment and initiate pre-operative patient care planAccomplish complete patient assessment and evaluation of each patient before surgery or treatmentAdminister therapeutic independent nursing careCoordinate the activities in the operating room to ensure safe quality patient careDirect and control equipment and suppliesPlan and prepare for the post-operative care of the outpatientPerform the duties of the circulating or scrub nurseImplement care of the patient/family in PACUUtilize interpersonal skills in an effective mannerComplete records and reportsAppraise and assist in revising nursing service surgical procedures and standards; assist in research projectsDemonstrate dependability and accountabilityParticipate in staff development and educational programsMaintain professional growth Requirements Job SpecificationsTypically has the following skills or abilities:Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursingActive Florida RN License or Multistate LicenseCurrent BLS and ACLS certificationsTwo years of nursing experience preferred with a minimum of one year experience in hospital ICU, PACU / outpatient recovery room or med-surge.Ability to exercise independent judgment based upon professional training and the established policies and procedures of the CenterAbility to withstand long and strenuous periods of work which include extensive walking, standing, and varied body motionsPhysical work not to exceed fifty (50) pounds without assistance#LI-ONSITEThe compensation range for the role is listed below. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
