Kitchen Supervisor Job Duties and Expectations

As the Kitchen Supervisor your main job is to ensure the successful and efficient operation of the Garver kitchen! You assist the managers in ensuring the tools and procedures are in place and used by all department staff for successful operations. Training the general staff in the kitchen and doing their reviews will also be a large part of your role! You will be expected to provide input on staffing, staff performance, and scheduling.

Supervisors must attend all staff, team, and manager meetings unless adequate notice is given. We use Google Drive and Google products like Sheets and Docs, so you will need to learn these tools and use them!

Kitchen Supervisor Requirements

  • Experience as a Supervisor or Shift Leader in catering, restaurants, or bars is required. Experience in restaurant kitchens is required.
  • Embody Ian's Standards for Customer Service, Food Quality, and Big Five Code of Conduct (Awareness, Connection, Effort, Dependability, and Generosity).
  • Cross-trained and regularly able to perform all in-store positions within 6 months.
  • Must complete a food safety certification course within 4 months.
  • Ability to motivate others, keep organized and set priorities, and practice good judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods. To bend, crouch, and lift up to 20-50 lbs. To use ovens, pizza cutters, and other equipment of the business.
  • English language proficiency is required for this position.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to apply. If you are 16 or 17 years old, you can apply for the Front of House at our Garver location (3241 Garver Green), and all other positions/locations require you to be 18 years of age.

Kitchen Supervisor Scheduling

This position is hourly with the expectation to work 35-40 hours per week: 30-35 hours in Operations and 5-10 hours towards Administrative work. Your schedule is posted 2 weeks at a time.

9-5 is a Dolly Parton song, not a job at Ian's Pizza. Weekend and evening availability is required! As a leader in the restaurant, you will work with the leadership team to be available for emergencies and help find coverage or cover shifts in your department as needed.
