Intermediate Designer:

The Intermediate Designer works independently or with other designers, under the supervision of a more senior Designer or Project Manager, to provide design support primarily in design phases of artwork and architecture projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Design Concepts – At the direction of senior designers, works collaboratively to develop design concepts and alternatives for both artwork and architecture projects.

Design Documentation – Works with the design team and senior designer to develop and complete design drawings, renderings, presentations, interviews, and marketing collateral.

Materials and Product Research Budgeting – Researches appropriate materials, furnishings, and artwork components from vendors, manufacturers, and representatives

Detailing - At direction of senior designers, may provide suggested details for artwork and architecture projects

Site Verifications and Field Surveys - Assists senior staff with verification of site details to support design. Assists in field surveying

Materials and Product Research Budgeting – Researches appropriate materials, furnishings, and artwork components from vendors, manufacturers, and representatives

Mentoring - Is aware of and supportive to the work of the Junior Designer

Client Service - Supports the team in collecting information for client and project assessment; may attend interviews and provide documentation support

EDUCATION , WORK EXPERIENCE & LEADERSHIP

Education

Graduate of architecture, product design, or other design school

Work Experience

3 years’ experience on architecture and/or product design

Leadership

Works under the leadership of a more senior team member; may help to guide a junior designer.

Technical

• Working knowledge of the range of design principles and aesthetics
• Advanced digital modeling skills
• Intermediate physical modeling skills
• Intermediate sketching and rendering skills
• Familiarity with architecture construction documents
• Familiarity with building systems, codes and ADA requirements
• Commitment to support projects through peaks and valleys

System Knowledge

• Intermediate MS Office Suite skills
• Intermediate Revit and AutoCad skills
• Advanced Rhino skills
• Advance rendering software skills including Enscape
• Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills
• Basic Affinity Program skills

Communication

• Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced presentation and graphic communication skills
