I-State Truck Center's employ over 600 technicians and provide services to a wide range of industries. As is our mission and our promise to our customers, we strive to provide “Pride in Service”. We do this by providing our technicians with the factory training they need to accomplish and sustain the highest efficiency possible.

This position is Full-Time, Monday thru Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm, no nights, no weekends!

Pay Range: $25.00-$32.50/ hour

Mechanic Job Duties

• Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on Gas and Diesel Buses and Vans
• Services and repairs on equipment such as engines, transmissions, brakes, air compressors, fuel systems, ignitions, HVAC and Wheel Chair lifts
• Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all heavy duty components
• Positive interface with service writers, foreman, parts department and customers
• Keep paper work updated and handed in upon completion
• Meet requirements for certifications

Mechanic Requirements 
• High school degree or G.E.D.
• Must have your own set of general tools
• Be able to work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs
• Use computers for web based training and work order system
• Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions

Desired Qualities/Skills
•Technical degree or certification a plus
• Experience working with diesel engines and/or heavy duty trucks
• Experience with Cummins or Detroit Diesel is preferred
• The desire to take advantage of certification opportunities to have the most updated product training Solid written and verbal communication skills
