Purpose

  • Responsible for the research, development, design, production, and distribution of technical training materials used by regional and corporate training staff for the Genesis Brand.
  • To lead and oversee a team of skilled professionals in the creation and delivery of high-quality online training programs for automotive technicians.
  • Play a crucial role in ensuring that our technical training content remains up-to-date, engaging, and effective in enhancing the skills and knowledge of our target audience.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of technical training designers.
  • Set clear expectations, goals, and objectives for the team members and monitor their performance and progress.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging continuous learning and professional development.
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of just-in-time and web-based technical training content, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Collaborate with Regional Training Managers and other subject matter experts to identify training needs, content requirements, and curriculum enhancements.
  • Implement a rigorous quality assurance process to review and validate the accuracy and effectiveness of training materials.
  • Lead the instructional design process to create engaging and interactive learning experiences that cater to diverse learning styles.

Major Responsibilities (continued)

  • Incorporate multimedia elements, simulations, and interactive activities to enhance learner engagement and comprehension.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in online learning and automotive technology.
  • Explore and implement new tools and technologies that enhance the delivery and effectiveness of web-based training content.
  • Manage and report project timelines, ensuring timely delivery of training content and resources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including content creators, multimedia designers, and technical experts, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Conduct regular assessments of training programs' effectiveness and learner satisfaction, utilizing feedback to make continuous improvements.
  • Analyze metrics and data to track the impact of training initiatives on technician performance and skill development.
  • Develop effective communication with management both locally and other international regions as required for the development and distribution of online training programs for automotive technicians.
  • Collaborate with other technical and development groups locally and internationally to gather and collate the required information for online training programs.

Authority

  • Develop and deploy content and materials.
  • Analysis for content of Technical Training Courses.
  • Problem identification and problem solving of course developments issues and recommendations for correction.
  • Problem identification and problem solving of issues.
  • Identify and develop appropriate delivery methods of course content.
  • Monitoring of vendor’s efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Assist in vendor selection.

Education

~ Must be a high school graduate
~ Master’s degree a plus
~ Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.

Related Experience

  • Six or more years of experience, with at three five years of directly related experience in automotive technical operations.
  • Proven experience in instructional design, online learning, and content development preferably in the automotive or technical training industry.
  • Two or more years of supervisory experience desired.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of automotive technology, repair procedures and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools, Learning Management Systems (LMS) and multimedia development software.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Leadership skills.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data-driven insights to enhance training programs.

$86,800.00 - $124,000.00 Annual
