Bilingual (English/Korean) Human Resources Specialist
We are a fast-growing startup organization seeking a Bilingual (English/Korean) Human Resources Specialist to join our team as a key player in supporting the organization's human resources functions. The Human Resources Specialist will work closely with HR management to ensure the effective implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills, a keen understanding of HR practices, and the ability to contribute to the overall success of the organization. The position is an onsite position, working Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm with a one-hour lunch. The position is salaried, non-exempt. Any hours over 40 will be paid time and one-half.

Responsibilities for Bilingual (English/Korean) Human Resources Specialist :
  • Processes required paperwork for employee transfers, changes in job classification, salary increases, and other related employment matters.
  • Assists with preparation of human resource reports such as attendance, new hire, and turnover reports.
  • Manages HR Projects & various administrative activities.
  • Actively engages in meetings as a bilingual translator, facilitating smooth communication between English and Korean speakers.
  • Translates emails and other documents, ensuring clarity, accuracy and cultural sensitivity in cross-language communication.
  • Assists with the development of teaching aids, training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, etc.
  • Assists with performance development tasks.
  • Participates in the recruitment, screening, and orientation for assigned positions.
  • Assists in developing safety programs for the facility.
  • May conduct or assist with new hire orientation.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department.
  • May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for Bilingual (English/Korean) Human Resources Specialist :
  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • Bachelors of Science in Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Minimum of four years' experience in Human Resources setting.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP is a plus.
  • Fluency in both English and Korean is essential.
  • Proven experience in translation, particularly in a business or professional setting.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills in both languages.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including a laptop computer and cell phone. The employee is generally required to spend long periods of time sitting, typing, and working at a computer. May require the ability to occasionally lift and transport items. The estimated base salary range for the Human Resources Specialist is $55,700-$66,000. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that GLOVIS EA reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel.
