Hypercraft is Hiring a Staff Battery Engineer Near Provo, UT
The Battery Engineer would be responsible for the design, development, and integration of battery and energy systems. You would participate in specifying, designing, or overseeing partners and suppliers (internal/external) related to the battery pack design. This position will include involvement in actual battery pack design and development and technical supervision of the portion of the designs being completed in manufacturing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engineering and design of EV Battery Systems
- Become a subject matter expert (SME) for all things battery at Hypercraft
- Specify battery pack requirements from component to system levels
- CAD modeling and design of the battery pack and surrounding components within the module
- Design of battery packaging solutions and complete installation of the pack within the application platforms
- Contribute to manufacturing and supply chain planning activities related to the battery packs
- Technically supervise the activities being performed by involved engineers and/or technicians
- Support purchasing and procurement with information when required
- Participate in testing, and when required, the direct installation of product in vehicles or support the indirect installation (by end user)
- At times be willing to participate in safety measures or training to ensure the full and complete consideration of every potential hazard in order to prevent injury
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years of direct battery design experience or 5 years of solid electrical and mechanical design
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience as an electrical or mechanical engineer
- Proficient with 3D modeling and design (Solidworks Preferred)
- Ability to take initiative and at times work on multiple projects without supervision
- Ability to make fast and accurate decisions in a high paced environment
