As a Product Manager of Energy Storage Systems, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of Hypercraft Products. Leveraging your extensive background in engineering, coupled with strong business acumen, you will lead cross-functional integrated product teams to deliver exceptional products. You will serve as the Product Owner, responsible for defining and executing the product strategy, ensuring alignment with market needs, and overseeing the product development lifecycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy aligned with the company's goals and market trends
  • Define and maintain the ESS (Battery Packs and Power Distribution) product roadmap(s), ensuring they reflect customer feedback, technological advancements, and business objectives
  • Act as the product owner of Energy Storage Systems, guiding the development team, and ensuring the product backlog is well-defined, prioritized, and ready for implementation
  • Establish and maintain rigorous quality control processes to guarantee the reliability, safety, and performance of energy storage products. Participate in testing and validation procedures to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Quickly address and problem solve issues / concerns that arise in development and/or manufacturing of Energy Storage Systems
  • Conduct regular planning, review, and retrospective meetings to drive product development
  • Lead and manage integrated product teams, fostering collaboration and innovation among mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders
  • Lead workshops with internal/external customers to understand their key business challenges (travel may be required)
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between various departments to drive product success
  • Initiate ESS R&D projects and lead these projects in collaboration with assigned engineers through the development process
  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, competitive landscape, and emerging trends in EV Powertrain Systems
  • Utilize data-driven insights to make informed product decisions and recommendations
  • Apply advanced product and project management techniques to drive successful product launches, from concept to delivery
  • Oversee all aspects of the product development process, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development
  • Identify product development targets including market pricing, cost, performance, quality, lead time, serviceability, ability to upgrade, and manufacturability

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering, preferably within the automotive or EV industry
  • Proven track record in product management, with a focus on integrated product teams and cross-functional workflows.
  • Collaborative leader able to work across organization to achieve success
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and delegate responsibilities
  • Ability to make fast and accurate decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt your communication style to the audience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, and the willingness and ability to teach others

  • Master of Business Administration
  • Startup environment experience
  • Possess a deep understanding of energy storage technologies, including batteries, grid integration, and renewable energy systems. Stay updated with the latest advancements in the field and apply technical expertise to product planning and development.
