Hypercraft is Hiring an Entry Level Buyer Near Provo, UT
- Purchase components and manage delivery schedules with Suppliers using NetSuite to meet production schedule and/or customer orders.
- Set and maintain accurate item lead times in the system and hold suppliers accountable to their commitments and to meet performance expectations.
- Buy parts according to specifications ensuring compliance to quality standards. Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues.
- Work cross functionally with other departments in order to meet business needs.
- Represent the company at all times with professional and ethical conduct when interacting with all contacts, including suppliers, customers, and colleagues
- Travels to supplier locations as needed
- Participate in purchasing performance metrics and related meetings: purchase price variance, on-time delivery, backorder, supplier scorecards, etc.
- Manage inventory to target levels while systematically optimizing inventory investment and service levels.
- Negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing for purchased items.
- Maintain accurate files and records for all correspondence and transactions with suppliers
- Verify purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to parts master and drawings; clarifying unclear items; and recommending alternatives
- Use ERP system to make purchasing decisions, generates requests for quote with fabrication suppliers, and evaluates quotes based on best quality, cost, and delivery
- Manage suppliers to high performance standards of quality, cost and on time delivery
- Award bids and prepares purchase orders to qualified suppliers in coordination with project managers to meet project requirements
- Keep information accessible by utilizing Google Drive for filing documents
- Communicate effectively and deal fairly and equitably with group members, peers and suppliers
- B.S. degree in business or technical discipline or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years purchasing experience
- Experience with using an integrated ERP system. NetSuite experience is a plus
- Exposure in negotiation and contract management
- CPM/CIPS/APICS or equivalent certification is a plus. If not certified, willingness to earn a professional certification, funded by Hypercraft, is a must
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to locate new sources for new and existing products for the company.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with help
- Demonstrated organization and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail and follow through
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work within deadlines
- Willingness to be flexible and help in whatever capacity is needed
- Must be a self starter that can work effectivity with little day to day oversight or direction.
