General Description
- The position is not management only. You will have to perform work yourself depending on the project.
- The project superintendent is the company’s managing representative at the construction site.
- Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met.
- Study construction documents to determine personnel/material/subcontractor requirements to plan activities for the project.
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of direct labor forces, sub-contractors & vendors.
- Responsible for quality control.
- Order or requisition materials and supplies.
- Record information such as personnel, production, operational data and historical data on specified forms and reports.
Work experience & Skills requirements
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote a safe work environment for the protection of people and property.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction and building process.
- Thorough working knowledge of construction budgets and production reporting.
- Ability to build and maintain a project schedule. He/she must have a thorough understanding of scheduling logic.
- Job requires a willingness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction.
- Job requires being honest, ethical, and have a co-operative attitude.
- Previous work-related skill, building knowledge, and craft experience is required for this position.
- Must have excellent verbal/written skills and be able to professionally and knowledgeably interact with subcontractors and vendors.
- Must be willing to jump in and participate in field work when needed.
- Must have good computer knowledge and ability.
- Qualified applicants must have commercial construction experience.
- Candidates must have proven field experience in commercial construction on projects ranging from $250,000 to $5 Million
- Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- College education is not required, however it is helpful
