Huron Gastro, P.C. is an adult medical gastroenterology practice specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of disorders that affect the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine (colon), rectum, liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, and pancreas. Our practice includes 21 physicians who are board-certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, 7 Advanced Practice Providers, and an outstanding staff of clinical and administrative personnel.

Huron Gastro currently has an opportunity to be a Medical Scheduling Coordinator. This position functions as a team member of the infusion department. A Scheduling Coordinator manages patient access to infusion treatments and supports the infusion RNs to optimize patient care. The goal of this role is to ensure that Huron Gastro provides timely scheduling services necessary to meet the patient’s needs. The Scheduling Coordinator is an active member of the infusion department who effectively interacts with patients, RNs, Providers, and other health team members while maintaining standards of professionalism, service excellence, and the mission and goals of Huron Gastro. Education

High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience
Five years of medical office experience
NextGen EPM and EMR knowledge preferred

Position Skill Set

Strong commitment to customer service
Medical terminology helpful
Excellent communication skills
High level of data entry accuracy

Primary Functions

Schedule patients for infusion treatments
Infusion chair optimization offering strategic scheduling of patients
Cleaning and sanitizing each treatment area, multiple times a day
Order non-medication supplies
Stock supplies
Assisting with prior authorizations when necessary
