Hunters Run Country Club is Hiring an Assistant Controller Near Boynton, FL

POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Controller is responsible for the operational accounting, financial reporting, close-processes, inventory count review & validation, fixed-assets, financial analysis, and ad-hoc reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles by performing the following duties:

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assists Controller with day-to-day and month-end accounting functions.
  • Serves as the accounting close manager providing accurate and timely data that facilitates informed decisions. 
  • Works with the Director of IT to maintain various computer systems and software packages. 
  • Has working knowledge of all software to provide support to users.
  • Utilizes software and IT to improve processes and reporting.
  • Maintains fixed assets.
  • Reconciles general ledger accounts.
  • Assists in the preparation of other accounting reports. 
  • Continues professional development by participating in networking events, continuing professional education, seminars and conferences.
  • Works closely with the Controller, Director of Accounting & Finance, and the Chief Financial Officer to continually improve organization.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS: 

  • Must be able to work in a team environment and capable of communicating well.
  • Exhibits professionalism and expressed interest in improvement through enhanced developmental skills, exhibit leadership, and expressed directly through own self-actions.
  • Maintain a pleasant and outgoing personality. 
  • Displays the club’s image with members, employees, and vendors by enforcing ethical business practices. 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or a demonstrated equivalent of education and experience is required. 
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an accounting office; OR three or four years of accounting experience with a thorough understanding of nonprofit accounting, bookkeeping, and financial management. 
  • Experience at an upscale Club, Hotel/Resort or other Hospitality business, with a thorough understanding of operations and superior Member/Guest Services.

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient with accounting software (Northstar a plus, but not required), Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. 
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills. 
  • Meticulous attention to detail. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Be able to pick up and carry up to 25 pounds as needed.
