Sterile Processing Technician Responsibilities:
- Sterile Processing Technician will clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Assemble and package surgical instrument trays and sets
- The Sterile Processing Technician will follow proper aseptic technique to prevent infection
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure sterile supplies are readily available for surgical procedures
- Sterile Processing Technician will adhere to safety protocols and guidelines in the handling and disposal of hazardous materials
Sterile Processing Technician Skills:
- Minimum of three years sterile processing experience
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRSCT) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technian (CSPDT) or a similar active certification
- Proficient in medical terminology and anatomy knowledge
- Strong understanding of sterile processing techniques and procedures
- Knowledge of physiology to understand the purpose and function of surgical instruments
- Ability to operate sterilization equipment effectively and safely
- Attention to detail to ensure proper cleaning, assembly, and packaging of surgical instruments
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals.
