The Operations Manager will provide technical and business leadership in product manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and employee development. The Operations Manager is responsible for implementing an inclusive culture, organizational strategies, standards, practices, leading business changes, and continuous growth and development. Additionally, this position serves as the subject matter expert in the plant on all downline process, quality, and material areas.
Operations Manager Responsibilities:
  • Leading safety and environmental security to ensure an injury-free and compliant workplace.
  • Ensuring a safe, clean, and environmentally compliant work environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Developing and implementing operational plans to achieve production targets and maximize efficiency.
  • Collaborating with Human Resources to select talent and ensure proper training, tools, processes, and systems are in place to empower employees to deliver against performance objectives.
  • Creating an inclusive environment where employees are engaged, empowered, and focused on serving customers.
  • Establishing clear and measurable performance expectations and holding the team accountable to deliver results.
  • Developing relationships with customers to understand what it takes to ensure high-quality products and developing solutions to better serve customers.
  • Executing business strategy and leading operations to drive towards manufacturing excellence while behaving with a TPM mindset in everything.
  • Identifying and driving continuous improvement efforts through the personal use and promotion of standardized work to cut costs and improve productivity and quality.
  • Preparing budgets relative to manpower, production, and space forecasting necessary to meet customer demands.
  • Effectively engaging and collaborating with all other functional areas of the plant as partners.
  • Leading Autonomous Maintenance and effectively mentoring teams and individuals at all levels of the organization around TPM principles and processes.
  • Identifying, tracking, and communicating metrics to measure Autonomous Maintenance progress.
  • Elevating the plant-wide proficiency and utilization of the right processes and toolsets to solidify TPM principles and processes.
Operations Manager Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of five years’ of people leadership in a manufacturing environment with strong knowledge of production systems and processes.
  • Exposure to cross-functional team leadership or participation within the organization.
  • Experience in discrete manufacturing a plus.
  • A history of hiring, growing, and promoting talent within an organization.
  • Demonstrated ability of coaching and guiding for results.
  • Demonstrated success of engaging others.
  • TPM or lean manufacturing experience preferred.
  • PSM experience preferred.
  • Experience in driving results and improving function, team, or area productivity.
