The role of the Plant Maintenance Leader involves overseeing the Maintenance Department and ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all plant areas and equipment. The Maintenance Leader is responsible for implementing an inclusive culture, reliability strategies, standards, practices, and driving business changes for the continuous growth and development of the Arkansas facility.
Plant Maintenance Leader:
  • Safety Leadership: Prioritize safety and ensure that all accidents are preventable. Promote a safety culture where everyone takes responsibility for working safely.
  • Safe and Compliant Work Environment: Ensure a safe, clean, and environmentally compliant work environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Technical Operations: Ensure that control plans, work instructions, and other procedures related to technical operations of the production lines prioritize safety.
  • Process Safety Management (PSM): Actively participate in and follow requirements for Process Safety Management (PSM) to support, improve, and enforce plant safety programs.
  • Measurement and Accountability: Establish and implement a clear and effective measurement system to drive results. Recognize and celebrate safe behaviors and achievements while ensuring accountability.
  • Operational Planning: Develop and implement operational plans to achieve production targets and maximize efficiency.
  • Talent Management: Select and develop talent based on business needs. Provide the necessary training, tools, processes, and systems to empower employees to meet performance expectations.
  • Employee Engagement: Create an environment where all employees are engaged, empowered, and focused on serving customers. Foster an inclusive environment where employees understand their unique contributions and feel empowered to unlock their full potential.
  • Team Development: Regularly evaluate the strengths and development opportunities of the team. Invest in the growth and development of talent within the organization.
  • Maintenance Strategy: Serve as the owner of the maintenance strategy, ensuring alignment with business strategy and operations plans to deliver overall operational excellence.
  • Capital Projects: Prepare capital budget forecasts, plans, scope, and cost estimates for plant improvements. Effectively manage all capital projects/installations and deliver committed results in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Reliability Work Process (RWP): Establish and lead the development of the Reliability Work Process (RWP). Oversee the installation, repair, and routine maintenance of plant equipment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement efforts to address unacceptable operational/maintenance losses. Determine root causes and implement permanent countermeasures.
  • Performance Metrics: Set clear and measurable expectations aligned with plant goals. Proactively analyze performance metrics and effectively communicate results.
  • Environmental Compliance: Actively participate in maintaining zero environmental non-conformities to applicable company, government, and regulatory policies.
  • Budget and Inventory Management: Maintain the budget and inventory of spare parts in a fiscally responsible manner.
  • Energy Optimization: Optimize energy balance and utility usage. Partner with technical teams to deploy a plant-wide energy savings plan.
  • Reliability Systems: Deliver stable and reliable operations through the development and support of reliability systems. Foster employee engagement and data-driven continuous improvement.
  • TPM Implementation: Collaborate with operational leadership and TPM steering teams to develop the master plan and strategies for the PM Pillar. Mentor teams and individuals on TPM principles and processes.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Identify, track, and communicate metrics to measure PM Pillar progress.
  • Proactive Problem Prevention: Lead with a proactive approach, focusing on problem prevention rather than problem-solving.
  • TPM Knowledge and Training: Elevate the proficiency and utilization of TPM principles and processes throughout the plant. Develop and deliver training as needed to build TPM knowledge and awareness.
Plant Maintenance Leader Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline. In lieu of a degree, 10 or more years of relevant experience may suffice.
  • Industrial Mechanical and Electrical background with a minimum of five years of people leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in developing, leading, and executing reliability-centered maintenance processes.
  • Proven track record of driving results through engaging others.
  • Preferred experience in Controls and Automation (PLC Allen-Bradley and Siemens), navigation maintenance management systems, cross-functional team leadership, and TPM or lean manufacturing.
  • Ability to utilize data-driven problem-solving methods and work both strategically and hands-on.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.
