ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for creating and executing forward-thinking strategies to help the Renewable Energy department develop new business opportunities in existing markets, identify opportunities in new markets, and grow profitability.

Project types range from commercial to utility photo voltaic solar projects. We are seeking a self-motivated individual who can work both independently and in a collaborative team environment, demonstrate high attention to detail, and is eager to use their education and / or experience to resolve challenges.

  • Develop and maintain new customer relationships to secure future business by meeting face-to-face and attending on-site and off-site meetings and events.
  • Continuously analyze markets and solar industry trends, while developing a strategic sales plan to enter into new markets and maintain existing markets.
  • Ensure a seamless transition of knowledge to Project Managers and General Foremen to move the project from the sale into fruition.
  • Secure projects while recognizing and achieving a commitment to quality workmanship, positive industry image and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare, process and maintain all files, correspondence, schedules, reports, and quotations necessary to perform the responsibilities of the contract.
  • Work with the team during the preconstruction / construction process to allow for the successful completion of the project and customer satisfaction.
  • Work with marketing team to create RFP responses as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 10 years of experience working as a Salesperson and / or Project Manager in the electrical industry.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with solar installation / sales.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the electrical industry.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, sales tactics, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods and the coordination of manpower and resources.
  • Ability to estimate project costs.
  • Ability or aptitude to learn the design of a PV system from Sunlight to Utility Connect.
  • Knowledge of engineering design and formulas utilized in load calculations and equipment sizing for solar projects and equipment.
  • Knowledge of layout systems including circuiting based on schematic layout.
  • Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish the goals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand the scope of the contract documents and the scope of the electrical work to be performed.
  • Willingness to travel multiple times a month to maintain existing relationships and establish new ones. Willingness and ability to train and educate estimators.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Estimating Software preferred.
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC).
  • NABCEP Solar PV related certification preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines.
  • Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl.
  • This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
  • This position may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
