Description

Hunt Advantage Group, LLC, a Distributor of Hunt Brothers® Pizza (www.huntbrotherspizza.com) is growing! We are seeking an experienced Fleet Safety Manager who will work at our Paris, KY HQ office and support our growing fleet and team members. The Fleet Safety Manager’s responsibilities include managing and owning all transportation safety operations, improvements, efficiencies, training, strategic planning, day-to-day operational oversight, and coaching tasks. Periodic travel to our remote facilities will be required to provide leadership oversight, training, coaching, and follow-through on all transportation safety-related items. The Fleet Safety Manager will interact with and directly influence our decentralized private fleet's behavior, performance, and knowledge base, utilizing telematics, truck-mounted camera system observations, advanced safety technology, and key performance indicators to drive a safety culture. This position also monitors the company's CSA Scores with the Department of Transportation and FMCSA to calibrate coaching and training. The Fleet Safety Manager position aims to ensure our operators make it home safely.

Hunt Advantage Group, LLC (H-ADV), established in 1976 and a founding distributor of Hunt Brothers® Pizza, is a privately held, family-owned and operated direct store distribution business.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct driver orientations, monthly safety meetings, weekly safety messages, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance.
  • Ownership of all new driver safety orientation, safety ride-long, accident reviews, remedial safety training, and company-designated driver “coach.”
  • Conduct Smith System training for all vehicle operators.
  • Responsible for maintaining & filing Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports, Hours of Service, etc.
  • Evaluate driver performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow-up assessments and training needs.
  • Plan and implement risk management assessment and safety compliance training programs.
  • Collaborate with management and outside agencies as the primary contact for emergency response, accidents, incident reports, near-miss reports, and driver road complaints.
  • Ensure proper use of electronic equipment and on-board programs in trucks and conduct random audits of reports created by various programs.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of fleet vehicles to identify and address safety hazards and non-compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain a driver recognition program based on safety, attitude, and performance.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain company safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations.
  • Develop, administer, and maintain policies, programs, and procedures to minimize personal injury, automobile, and general liability claims.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop strategies for accident risk reduction.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety and compliance activities, accident reports, and training records.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and compliance throughout the organization.
  • Performs routine system and data analysis to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety practices, procedures, and technologies and implement changes to enhance safety performance and compliance.

Qualifications


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, managers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Experience working in direct store distribution and transportation safety fields is preferred.
  • Strong computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, GPS systems, DVIR, and other fleet management software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and implement effective compliance strategies.
  • Excellent organization skills, time management, attention to detail, the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects, and adherence to timelines and schedules.
  • Thrives in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and decorum.
  • Ability to interact in a team environment and work independently with little to no supervision.
  • Thorough knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations pertaining to motor carriers.
  • Ability to create lesson plans, provide informational instruction, and give constructive feedback to operators to ensure buy-in.
  • Have or the ability to acquire Smith System Certification
  • Have or the ability to acquire Aubrey Daniels Institute Certification
  • Have or the ability to acquire a Certified Transportation Professional designation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma / GED
  • Function-Specific Experience: 5 years
  • Valid Operator’s License
    • Have or the ability to acquire a Class B CDL
  • Legal Age: 21 years old
  • Travel as needed; Up to 25%
