About HSC

HSC has been around for over 45 years, In June of 2022, HSC has moved into our brand-new Animal Resource Center just minutes away from our previous shelter. We're thrilled to have more updated facilities and be able to offer more comprehensive services to our community. This is an incredibly exciting time to join our team!

The Role

As an Adoptions & Client Specialist, you will be responsible for:

• Providing excellent customer care.
• Completing adoption paperwork.
• Providing post-adoption follow-up.
• Promoting retail sales.
• Collecting and maintaining accurate records.
• Making lifelong matches between customers and our pets.
• Providing information about the Humane Society of Charlotte’s policies and procedures and the animals in the shelters’ care.

What We Need From You

• Enthusiasm for the mission of the Humane Society of Charlotte and helping animals in our community
• Preferred: six months to one-year related experience and/or training
• Must be comfortable interacting with dogs and cats
• Ability to walk large dogs and lift up to 50lbs.
• Exceptional verbal and written skills, including clear and effective communication with others (staff, public, volunteers) that is professional, respectful, positive and educational.
• Computer literate in a Windows environment; proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable mode of transportation and good driving record
• Must be willing to work Tuesday-Saturday and holidays as needed
• Must have a great sense of humor and enjoy working in a relaxed office environment

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
