Human Rights Campaign is Hiring a Senior Manager, Digital Near Washington, DC

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Digital should be an experienced and creative digital leader looking to be part of a dynamic team. The Senior Manager contributes and supports the creation of creative content across HRC’s digital platforms, including the website and social media channels. This role reports to the Director of Digital Content & Strategy and works cross-departmentally across HRC, including with Brand & Creative, Communications, Political and Public Affairs, Foundation, Membership and Development teams. The Senior Manager will be responsible for producing compelling content across all our digital channels and platforms – website, social media, and more – to ignite community engagement, expand our audience, and optimize user journeys.

This position will be based in Washington, DC and will be eligible for our hybrid work structure of working out of the office at a minimum of 2 days per week. 

Position Responsibilities:

Digital and Strategy

  • Launch and manage impactful digital campaigns across social media and digital channels with topics ranging from advocacy to programmatic 
  • Craft compelling written, graphic, and video content that sparks conversation and drives action’s website properties and social media platforms
  • Collaborate with the team to optimize user experiences and ensure our digital platforms are engaging and effective.
  • Maintain brand integrity in campaigns and on digital platforms, and help maintain and enforce editorial style guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

Innovation and Development

  • Develop innovative digital campaigns that advance HRC's mission and spark meaningful change
  • Collaborate with diverse and passionate teams to create and execute impactful digital strategies motivating millions of followers, members and supporters
  • Partner with the Website Manager to ensure seamless user experience for campaigns and initiatives 
  • Rigorously analyze digital analytics and monitor metrics and trends to recommend and initiate content and optimization around our organization’s work
  • Collaborate effectively with the Digital Communications and Strategy team, fostering a strong sense of teamwork and shared purpose 

Position Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in digital marketing is required. 
  • A skilled, strong communicator and creative, empathetic thinker who has a digital-first approach to creating projects that support the organization’s mission
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in developing reports and digital content development
  • Familiarity with digital tools, including but not limited to Canva, Capcut and Craft CMS, social media platforms, and a passion for using these tools to drive action and engagement 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills with a keen ability to manage multiple projects at once, meeting tight deadlines, in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to take on routine tasks as needed, team player, and brings a positive attitude to the work and the team
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word and Powerpoint), Google apps (Google Docs and Drive), and other project management software
  • Demonstrable success in organizing and managing projects which are multi-faceted and mission-driven
  • Flexibility with work schedule; this position may require some evenings and weekends. Some travel (around 10%) will be required. 
  • Strong interest in the rapidly changing LGBTQ equality movement and a working knowledge of LGBTQ issues
