Purchasing Manager

Reports to: VP of Operations

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Experience in working with ERP Systems is necessary, and experience in working with EPDS/Axiom is a plus, but not required.

· Strong inventory management experience

· Manage all aspects of the product department, which includes developing career paths within your team to help them expand and grow their skills and job knowledge.

· Will continuously be collaborating with multiple levels or management, department levels and various personality types to promote cohesion.

· Ability to manage, and build relationships with Sales while continuing to foster and grow relationships with Suppliers and Manufactures.

· Ability to identify and evaluate critical decision’s that require accurate and timely responses. PO approvals for procurement of raw materials, parts, services, machinery, equipment, tools, and/or other supplies as necessary.

· Insure all PO’s, PO acknowledgements, confirmations and expediting are timely and accurately completed.

· Ability to work diligently with other departments in order to quickly resolve discrepancies related to shipments, inventory, production scheduling and any potential hold ups with invoicing, such as needing approvals to process payments.

· Negotiate with suppliers to ensure best value and research opportunities to reduce costs for overall performance improvement.

· Create/develop and promote Standard Operating Procedures where needed to improve consistency and assist in streamlining processes.

· Need to have a good understanding of the contract creation process between Vendors and our Sales Team.

· Understanding and knowledge of ship & debit process

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED

· High School Degree or equivalent

· Good written and verbal communication skills is necessary in order to be successful in leading and continuing to develop a team of 7 direct reports.

· At least 2 years of management, experience is preferred.

· Strong knowledge and experience with understanding the processes and best practices related to purchasing. General knowledge of manufacturing processes is a plus, but not a requirement.

· Industry experience of electronics distribution is a plus, but not a requirement.

· Strong knowledge and understanding of basic Microsoft Office. (Outlook, Excel, and Word).

· Think like an owner, having the mindset of continuous process improvements is ideal for an, Employee Owned, and operated company.

· Ability to travel as needed – 5 to 10% per year
