Hudson Valley Hospice is Hiring a Home Health Aide (HHA) - Inpatient Unit Near Hyde Park, NY
The purpose of a home health aide with Hudson Valley Hospice at our new Hospice facility is to provide home health services to Hudson Valley Hospice patients and their families. Guarantee that those services are consistent with the philosophy, goals, objectives, and policies of the Agency. We are looking for qualified, professional staff to provide this intimate care in our new facility. As a Home Health Aide with Hudson Valley Hospice, you will be working with and providing care for those who are at the end of life. It is crucial to have an understanding of hospice and what it means to provide ADL's for those at the end of life. PATIENT RATIO 1:5 Pay starting at $19 per hour$2,500 SIGN ON BONUS (night shift) and $1,000 SIGN ON BONUS (day shift) for Full TimeWilling to train CNA and PCA first day to become HHA certified ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Completes Hospice Aide duties following established plan of care.
Provide 24-hour continuous care for patient/families at the facility as needed
Reports all patient condition changes and/or uncontrolled symptoms to primary nurse or Inpatient Unit Director/Coordinator immediately.
Maintains adequate records of all patient/family care services, as per policy.
Report all cases of abuse/neglect to supervisor, as per policy.
Completes required competencies, infection control and ins-services.
Assists with orientation of new Hospice Aides as requested by supervisor.
Notifies Hospice in the event of patient changes and uncontrolled symptoms.

Understanding of hospice philosophy and the care we provide

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Uniform - Scrubs required.
Ability to carry at least twenty-five pounds of equipment and/or supplies.
Moderate to high risk of exposure to unsafe environments.
Routine duties involve potential for direct exposure to blood or body fluids.
Fast-paced facility environment
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
New York State certified home health aide with a minimum of 12 hours per year of in-service education since receiving certification.
One (1) year of caring for terminally ill patients with a basic understanding of the hospice philosophy preferred.
Valid PCA or CNA (willing to be trained and obtain HHA asap)
Hours: 40 hours per week; Shifts: 7:00am-3:00pm, 3:00pm-11:00pm and 11:00pm-7:00am; every other weekend required (also looking for Part-Time 24 or 32 hours per week); Rotating weekends and holidays Pay: starting at $19/hr FLSA: Non-Exempt Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Company Matched 403b, Tuition Assistance, Mileage Reimbursement, Hospice and Palliative Care Certification and more!
