Hudson Valley Hospice is Hiring a Financial Analyst Near Poughkeepsie, NY

Description

The responsibility of the Financial Analyst supports overall Agency and Foundation performance through analysis of financial status by collecting, monitoring, and studying data. This position works directly with our CFO/VP of Finance

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting.
  • Provide project support to senior management.
  • Analyze financial results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
  • Month end General Ledger analysis and account reconciliation.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports.
  • Manages contracts with service providers and referral sources.
  • Assist with preparation of the annual budget and forecasting processes.
  • Works as support to the Finance department.
  • Special projects as assigned. 

COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Healthcare experience 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building meaningful relationships. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

  • Ability to work for long periods in front of a computer screen
  • Long periods of sitting

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance or Accounting
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in healthcare finance, financial planning & analysis, or other related fields
  • Experience with Sage 100 accounting software

Hours: Looking for 30-40 per week (Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm)

Pay: $33.65-38 per hour dependent on experience

FLSA: Exempt
