The signage, the shelving, the display vessels, the items used to prepare the food at the deli, right? That's what we sell! We're basically the behind-the-scenes product people for supermarkets, hotels, universities, and restaurants.

We're presenting an exciting opportunity for an Import Processor. This person will be responsible for the day-to-day import payment processing, paying carrier invoices and domestic vendor invoice functions of the Hubert Company using acceptable accounting principles. The position reports to our Accounting Manager.

What Makes This a Great Opportunity?

This is a role within the accounts payable organization that takes someone who is detail oriented and skilled problem solver.

The Import Processor performs non-routine, moderately complex accounts payable/receivable functions. Pays bills for the organization and maintains the accounts payable ledger and/or processes and corrects billing records, credit and collection activities and maintenance of the accounts receivable ledger. Analyzes and processes transactions.

What you will do:

• Accurately entering invoices from foreign suppliers
• Reviewing and providing documentation to the AP Lead to pay deposits and/or prepayments to foreign suppliers making sure to follow Hubert’s processes.
• 3-way match when the product is received and reconciling back to deposits issued and/or prepayments made.
• Ensuring all documentation required by Homeland Security is maintained
• Reviewing and entering customs payments in AP system
• Providing Accounting Manager with a breakdown of import freight costs
• Daily review of assigned domestic vendor invoices which did not post during the daily import
• Resolving daily billing, receiving and shipping discrepancies by communicating with internal and external sources.
• Invoicing customer orders that shipped directly from our suppliers and did not auto-bill.
• Reviewing statements monthly
• Responding to internal and external e-mails.
• Coding and entering FedEx and LTL broker invoices
• Other duties as assigned

What we need:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Accounts payable experience in a Manufacturing or Distribution environment
• Minimum 2 years accounts payable experience
• Basic knowledge of Excel
• Experience with processing import payments a plus
