We are hiring a Staff Accountant to our winning team!
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting Aclara accounting and warehouse operations; including expenditure management, customer and Aclara inventory in warehouses, and supporting period close for financial reporting.
This vital role will provide assistance to Purchasing, Project Manager and Operations teams with payable functions, including but not limited to:
- Assisting with Purchase Order requisition coding for Purchase Order creation
- Monitoring new vendor set up completion and updates to ensure compliance with company requirements
- Monitoring vendor invoice submission to AP and payment, communicating with vendors to request missing invoices, dispute invoice amounts or provide payment status
- Perform month-end close routines including journal entry preparation, accrual estimates and account analysis.
- Review and assess controls over warehouse operations by physical observation and communication with key warehouse personnel.
- Supervising and participating in periodic physical inventory counts and reconciliations to ERP quantities.
- Respond to Controller or Project Manager requests and complete special projects or analysis, as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, strong communication and analytical skills, a self-starter who can work independently and execute projects effectively, able to work hands on at project warehouses and with project personnel.
- Ability to effectively identify issues, propose solutions and communicate effectively up the chain of command.
- Ability to travel 10-25% within the U.S and Puerto Rico and ability to work in warehouse offices and storage areas during travel.
Preferred:
- 1-2 years project accounting experience.
- JD Edwards & SAP experience.
- Understanding of inventory and warehouse operations
