Summary | Assists in all sales and marketing efforts for the sale of the company’s products to end users, contractors, wholesalers and representatives by performing the following duties. |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities | Work with specifying engineers directly and with local representatives on product selection and sizing. Quotes prices and approves sales contracts for orders obtained. Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules. Assists the Sales Manager to call on independent sales representatives and prospective customers to solicit orders. Displays or demonstrates product at trade shows and technical seminars, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features. Provide the marketing department with finished copy for a wide range of sales and marketing efforts. Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts. Troubleshoots basic operational and technical problems. Provides back-up to the technical support team. Due to the significant time spent interfacing with customers he or she will be instrumental in uncovering new opportunities for growth. Respond to representatives and customers in a timely manner. |

Education And/Or Experience | Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Engineering background or working knowledge of mechanical devices is a plus. |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as specifications, quotation requests, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. |
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. | |
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Time management skills. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. | |
Physical Requirements | General office environment. Occasional travel to customer functions. Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks. May occasionally involve repetitive movements. Frequently sit, sort, file paperwork or parts, grasp lightly, and use fine manipulation, bend, lift, carry, push and pull objects that weigh 10 pounds or less. Multi-tasking with frequent interruptions. Occasionally write by hand, use a telephone, twist, bend, stoop and squat. |
Working Conditions | May require extensive work hours during peak business planning cycles. Requires overnight travel domestically and internationally on occasion. A valid passport and suitable identification are necessary. |
