Job Title: Project Director – Tribal Behavioral Health Grant Program (Native Connections)

Department: Health Education and Wellness

Class: Full-time

Salary: $31.25/Hr. (DOE)

Position Summary:

The Project Director will oversee day-to-day operations related to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA) Native Connections Program. The purpose of this program is to prevent and reduce suicidal behavior and substance use, reduce the impact of trauma, and promote mental health among American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) youth through the age of 24 years.

The Project Director will ensure that all develop a strategic plan to which adheres to the budget and the goals as outlined in the grant application. They will be responsible for program development and implementation. This includes the provision of direct therapeutic services, both in-person and via a telehealth platform.

Duties:

  • Develop and implement new programing outlined in the grant application using a variety of evidenced-based treatments in the course of therapeutic work with clients.
  • Manage data, complete reports, and provide oversight of the program to ensure that activities match the strategic plan and demonstrate progress toward the established goals.
  • Provide clinical and general supervision to other staff members of the project.
  • Collect and manage data through the implementation of GRPA measures as well as other data collection components associated with the grant.
  • Submit grant reports through SPARS as required by SAMHSA and HEW Administration, and maintain eRA Commons account.
  • Demonstrate timely progress towards the completion of all program goals and objectives.
  • Provide periodic updates to Staff, Health Director, Tribal Council, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in monthly meetings with staff and SAMHSA representatives.
  • Adheres to all Hualapai Tribal policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or similar field.
  • Five years of experience as a professional counselor.
  • Two years of experience administering grant activities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience utilizing telehealth services to provide assessments.
  • Certification (or working towards certification) in Social Work Counseling.
  • Knowledge or certification in Trauma-informed and Family Counseling
  • Knowledge and experience working with Tribal Health Agencies and SAMHSA grants.
  • Training in evidenced-based treatment models such as EMDR, MRT, MST, CBT, and DBT.
  • Ability to speak and understand the Hualapai Language.
