Job Summary:

The Database Engineer, within the MS-SQL support team, will serve as a central point of contact for the management and administration of the Client's database environment. The role involves adhering to Client Standards and Policies while supporting, managing, and operating all necessary databases. The Database Engineer will collaborate with application teams, internal IT teams, and 3rd party vendors to resolve Incidents, Problems, and Change tickets, in alignment with existing agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a primary contact for managing MS-SQL database instances and servers.
• Provide support to application teams and coordinate with internal IT teams and 3rd party vendors for incident, problem, and change resolution.
• Perform day-to-day database monitoring operations and administration.
• Conduct root cause analysis for database-related issues and implement corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related problems in a timely manner.
• Update and maintain Configuration Management Database (CMDB) information.
• Execute database patching and upgrades in accordance with established protocols.
• Fulfill requests for provisioning new database instances.

Skills and requirements:

• Proficiency in MS-SQL database management and administration.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in root cause analysis for database issues.
• Familiarity with database patching and upgrade processes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Relevant certifications in MS-SQL database administration preferred
• Knowledge of Client Standards and Policies.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes.
• Experience in working with 3rd party vendors.
• Knowledge of server and network technologies.
