Job Title: System Administrator (Windows, VMware, Citrix, Datacenter Technologies)

Overview: We are seeking a skilled System Administrator with expertise in Windows, VMware, Citrix, and other datacenter technologies. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and optimization of our systems infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing Windows environments, virtualization platforms such as VMware, and Citrix deployments. Additionally, the candidate will have the opportunity to obtain certification in Epic, a leading electronic health records (EHR) system, to support our healthcare IT environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. System Administration:

    • Manage and maintain Windows server environments, including installation, configuration, patch management, and troubleshooting.
    • Oversee VMware infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and virtual machine management.
    • Administer Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop environments, ensuring optimal performance and availability for end-users.
    • Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and capacity planning to support business needs.
  2. Infrastructure Management:

    • Deploy and maintain datacenter technologies, including storage solutions, networking equipment, and backup systems.
    • Implement and enforce security best practices to safeguard systems and data from unauthorized access or breaches.
    • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate systems, applications, and services into the existing infrastructure.
  3. Troubleshooting and Support:

    • Respond to system alerts, incidents, and service requests in a timely manner, following established procedures and protocols.
    • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to Windows, VMware, Citrix, and other infrastructure components.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, assisting with system access, software installations, and performance optimization.
  4. Documentation and Compliance:

    • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organizational policies related to IT operations and security.
  5. Professional Development:

    • Pursue certification in Epic EHR system, becoming proficient in Epic administration and support.
    • Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in system administration and datacenter management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a System Administrator, with expertise in Windows, VMware, and Citrix environments.
  • Strong understanding of datacenter technologies, including storage, networking, and backup solutions.
  • Familiarity with virtualization concepts and platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, VMware Certified Professional, Citrix Certified Associate) preferred.
  • Willingness to obtain certification in Epic EHR system within a specified timeframe.
