Named one of the Top 100 Best and Brightest Companies to Work for In the Nation, Handtmann, Inc., located in Lake Forest, Illinois is currently seeking a Staff Accountant.

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Staff Accountant is responsible for understanding, supporting, and backing up the accounting positions within the company. This includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and inventory control. Processing misc. state compliance reporting and state and federal income tax filings. Complete monthly responsibilities around the month end close, including reviewing the A/P and A/R work, closing A/P and A/R in the ERP system, account analysis and reconciliations, performance reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Additionally, oversee the office accounting systems to ensure that established controls and policies are maintained.

The salary for this position is up to $80,000 for applicants who closely match what we’re looking for.

This role is for you if you:

• You’re an Excel wizard and are not afraid of large data sets, vlookups, and pivot tables.
• You're familiar with sales tax processing for multiple states.
• You have experience with a ERP integrated financial reporting system.
• You have a “whatever it takes” attitude - you can switch gears from working independently to becoming a team player and wearing lots of hats to support the team and the company’s daily, weekly, and monthly commitments.
• You have strong experience with Microsoft Word, not just Excel.

You will thrive in this role if:

• You have prior experience as a general accountant, or even a staff member in a medium sized accounting environment.
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field (we would also consider a 2-year Accounting degree should your prior experience more closely align with what we’re looking for).
