HR Works is Hiring a HR Analyst/Consultant Trainee Near Fairport, NY

HR Works’ team of affirmative action (AA) and equal employment opportunity (EEO) Consultants is growing and we’re offering you the opportunity to learn and develop industry and consulting skills in our rigorous internal consultant training. This role is hybrid, with a minimum of two days each week in our Fairport office (full-time during initial training).

Compensation rate: $26.45 an hour.

As an HR Analyst/Consultant Trainee with HR Works, you will be immersed in a 12- to 18-month training program designed to prepare you for success as an AA-EEO Consultant with our company. In the program, you will:

  • Develop affirmative action plans (AAPs) in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Learn to serve as a project lead, coordinating internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct analyses on client data in Excel and industry-related software programs.
  • Identify, research, and resolve data irregularities, applying AA regulatory knowledge.
  • Prepare and interpret statistical reports.
  • Learn to advise clients on the implementation of an AAP.
  • Cleanse, prepare, and file client workforce data for the filing of EEO-1, VETS-4212, CA Pay, IL EPRC, and other state or federal Reports; assist clients with understanding filing requirements and troubleshooting filing system problems.
  • Create forms, articles, presentations, and other tools to assist clients with compliance and communication.
  • Research diversity outreach strategies.
  • Develop skills to advise clients on matters related to non-discrimination and pay equity.
  • Extract and prepare client workforce data reports from various human resources information systems (HRIS) platforms.
  • Develop a basic knowledge of federal and state employment law compliance and HR best practices.
  • Assist Consultants with supporting clients through OFCCP audits.
  • Collaborate within department to identify compliance strategies and best practices that support client AA/EEO initiatives.

Would you describe yourself as a Data Driven, Strong Communicator, Critical Thinker?

This role is right for you if you are analytical, comfortable leveraging data to inform decisions and assess effectiveness. Lots of Excel sounds like a good time to you. Your communication is excellent both in writing and verbally, in both one-on-one and team settings. You are skilled at taking in complex information and figuring out the best path forward within a legal and practical framework.

To be successful, you’ll bring to the role, at a minimum:

  • Experience working with large data sets in Excel.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other M365 applications
  • Strong customer service, verbal, and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to gather, summarize, and present meaningful information.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines under pressure.
  • 1 year experience working in an office environment.

The strongest candidates will also have:

  • Affirmative action, human resources, or staffing experience.
  • BA/BS degree or higher level of education
  • Experience with Python
  • HR certification and experience in consultation and project management
