Description -
HP One Agent, also known as HP OneCloud Agent, is a software component associated with HP devices that is responsible for system management and updates. It is a core foundation component that enables platform connectivity, telemetry, and subscription.
1. The agent is modular and event-based, and with a strong connection to the HP App Enabling Services driver product and team
2. The agent is designed with a strong reusability and platform mindset, where most code features are implemented as shared libraries, and the majority of business features are developed as modules, all for reusability across the HP portfolio
3. Additionally, the agent has a plugin manager and a service host, which brings the opportunity to reduce the number of HP processes running in the background and simplifies the development and deployment of new features
4. Further, it is used as an enabler for the AI PC with capabilities for performing local inference in the new future.
We are looking for a Sr Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented engineers working on the HP OneCloud Agent and the Cloud IoT framework that enables it. The agent is currently installed on more than 20m devices.
Responsibilities :
  • Manages the strategy and activity of their leadership teams which include Engineering Managers and individual contributors (typically Expert/Master)
  • Applies expert subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving most complex business/technical issues within established policies.
  • Has accountability for a large multi-department area(s) or location(s) with significant impact on business unit results and organizational strategy.
  • Acts as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall policies and long-term goals of the organization.
  • Plans, manages, and monitors high-end operational/tactical activities of staff.
  • Recruits and supports development of direct staff members.
  • Typically manages 10 or more direct reports.
Education and Experience Required:
  • First level university degree or equivalent experience required.
  • May have advanced university degree.
  • Ten or more years of related work experience, including 5 years of people management experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience in leading multiple development teams
  • Effectively communicating strategic plans, product architecture, design principals, results, and negotiate options at senior management levels Proficiency in at least, one modern programming language such as C#, .NET, Node.js, Java etc.
  • Deep understanding and experience in Agile software engineering practices and full software development life cycle
  • Experience in AWS or other Cloud technologies preferred
  • Experience in setting up and continually improving CI/CD tools (Git, Kubernetes, Jenkins), processes and procedures preferred
  • Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team building, and conflict resolution.
  • Advanced project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills.
  • Advanced business acumen, technical knowledge, and extensive knowledge in applications and technologies.
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
  • Experience with JIRA.
  • Strong communication skills (e.g., written, verbal, presentation); mastery in English and local language.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $137000 - $235650 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
