JOB SUMMARY
The STEM Lab Coordinator is responsible for managing inventory, maintenance, and expansion of existing STEM labs. They ensure that lab resources are efficiently utilized and up-to-date, overseeing equipment upkeep and coordinating enhancements to facilitate advanced learning experiences. This role is crucial in supporting a dynamic educational environment where students engage with STEM disciplines.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Oversee and maintain accurate records of STEM lab equipment and supplies, ensuring availability and readiness for educational activities.
2. Coordinate regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of lab equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
3. Plan and execute the expansion of STEM lab facilities, including researching and procuring new equipment and technologies to enhance learning experiences.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED
4. Ensure all STEM labs adhere to safety standards and protocols, conducting regular safety audits and training staff and students on proper lab practices.
5. Collaborate with IT department to ensure all lab equipment is functional and meeting academic needs, coordinating repairs and upgrades as needed to support educational activities.
6. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree

WORK EXPERIENCE
At least 5 years working in the district/central office of a large urban school district

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Work Leadership. Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees but does not have formal supervisory responsibility. Leading and directing is restricted to monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work time is spent performing many of the same duties they are leading.

Work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent.
