Overview:

Houston Ballet is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Information Technology to lead our IT department. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and proven leadership and communication skills. They will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our IT infrastructure, systems, and services, as well as providing strategic direction to support our artistic work on and off the stage.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IT strategies, policies, and procedures to support Houston Ballet company objectives and drive innovation.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other departments to understand their technology needs and priorities and provide innovative solutions to meet those needs.
  • Lead and manage a team of five (5) full-time IT professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high performance and career development.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, systems, and security measures. Experience with Cisco Meraki, Fortigate, Microsoft Azure, and Tessitura in a Windows and Apple environment.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to IT security, data privacy, and other areas of IT governance.
  • Manage IT budgets, resources, and vendors to ensure cost-effective delivery of IT services and solutions.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends and liaise with other arts organizations to assess their potential to enhance our company's operations and competitive position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT-specific leadership roles, with a track record of success in managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong technical background in areas such as networking, systems administration, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing IT strategies and roadmaps to support business objectives.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically.
  • Good time management skills, multi-tasking abilities, adaptability and flexibility are a must!
  • Experience in dance or the performing arts or non-profit organizations a plus!
