What would you do in This position?

As a new Accounts Payables team member at the Housing Authority of The City of Austin, you will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments to vendors. Your day-to-day tasks will involve accurately recording financial transactions, communicating with internal departments and external vendors, and assisting with month-end close processes. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently are key to succeeding in this role.

What you need to be successful

To excel in the Accounts Payables position at the Housing Authority of The City of Austin, candidates should possess an Associate's degree in General Business Management or a related field. Alternatively, a high school diploma or G.E.D. with two to three years of relevant experience is also acceptable. Ideal candidates will have strong proficiency in financial software and tools, along with excellent communication and organizational skills. A Bachelor's degree or additional years of experience in the field are preferred.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Required: Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and one year of experience; or high school education or G.E.D. and two to three years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.   • Preferred: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
