INDUSTRIAL REFRIGERATION MANAGER

The Industrial Refrigeration Manager position includes heading up a team of refrigeration technicians to operate an ammonia refrigeration system throughout a poultry processing production facility. The Manager position involves maintaining, troubleshooting and preventing mechanical, electrical and refrigeration problems. This includes making repairs and alterations to the refrigeration systems as needed during the week and weekends. Also includes assisting the assembly and dismantling refrigeration equipment including chillers, freezers, hot/cold water systems, air compressors and more. Strong mechanical and electrical skills needed and experience with automated computer equipment is preferred. Must be able to use a variety of hand and power tools as well as material handling equipment. This position requires the ability to work as a team with a high energy level while also being able to work independently. Must be able to maintain a clean and orderly work area. This includes working in the constantly-changing work environment involving processing chickens that can be both cold/hot and moist/damp/dusty. Safety rules and procedures must be followed at all times to ensure that all OSHA and PSM standards are maintained in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements:

• Prior industrial ammonia refrigeration experience is required.
• Must have demonstrated ability to train and supervise subordinates.
• Excellent verbal communication skills required.
• Excellent written skills also required to be able to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to work all days/shifts as needed and schedule work crews for 24-hour coverage.
• Speed and accuracy required with good hand/eye coordination.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods of time.
• Must be familiar with manufacturing systems and have basic mechanical and electrical skills.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, sit, crouch, twist, balance, climb, squat on a regular basis as well as standing for long periods of times.
• Must be able to read and interpret schematics and drawings, equipment manuals, work orders, preventive maintenance plans and instructions.
• Must be detail-oriented, result driven and a problem solver.
• Must be a team player while also being able to work independently.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma, or equivalent, plus 3-5 years of related experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment. Must have strong reading, math, written and analytical skills plus technical courses in electrical, hydraulics and/or ammonia refrigeration.

CIRO, RETA or similar operator certification required or must be completed successfully within six months of employment.
