House of Hope Refuge of Love is Hiring a Residential Advisor Near Brunswick, GA

The Residential Advisor (RA) plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care, guidance, and support to our clients. By adhering to the highest standards of professionalism and collaboration, the RA contributes to creating a nurturing and therapeutic environment within our facility. They are responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of our clients while maintaining a family-oriented environment.

Must be 21 or older.

CURRENTLY HIRING FOR Full TIME 3PM-10PM, 10PM- 8AM

AND PRN

Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Responsibilities:

**Interpersonal Skills and Flexibility:**

  • Demonstrate the ability, energy, flexibility, and maturity to effectively relate to individuals of all ages, including children, youth, and adults.
  1. Professional Development:

    • Display motivation and an eagerness to learn and develop appropriate therapeutic client care skills.
    • Meet all employment qualifications as outlined in the standards for a child caring institution.
  2. Compliance and Collaboration:

    • Follow directions and instructions provided by the Director.
    • Work collaboratively with agency staff, teachers, families, and caseworkers to meet the needs of clients in care.
  3. Safety and Supervision:

    • Prioritize the safety and supervision of clients from the beginning of each assigned shift.
    • Provide direct supervision of clients and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment within the facility.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; preference given to candidates with some college training in social services or related fields.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Georgia Driver's license and clearance through the Georgia Department of Human Resources (DHR) Criminal Records Check.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain scheduled shifts and provide therapeutic waking for clients.
  • Ensure clients complete basic hygiene tasks.
  • Supervise clients to create a safe therapeutic environment.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and maintain medication administration records (MAR).
  • Possess knowledge of and provide appropriate first aid care.
  • Complete medical paperwork related to clients' health needs.
  • Assist clients with assigned chores and mealtime routines.
  • Facilitate client transitions to and from school.
  • Assist with classroom management as directed by the Director.
  • Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of residential living areas.
  • Participate in professional development programs and staff meetings.
  • Teach basic independent living skills to clients.
  • Transport clients to appointments in a timely manner.
  • Follow off-campus itinerary schedules.
  • Report pertinent client information to the Director.
  • Serve as a mentor to clients, providing guidance and support.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate client activities.
  • Conduct oneself professionally at all times, adhering to the organization's Code of Conduct.
  • Assist treatment service workers during group activities.
  • Provide and participate in appropriate client activities according to individual treatment plans.
  • Monitor clients throughout the night and maintain related paperwork.
  • Attend and complete all mandatory training.
  • Attend and successfully complete all mandatory trainings (CPI, CPR/First Aid, Documentation, Medical Training, Conscious Discipline, Cultural Diversity)
  • Responsible for monitoring clients throughout the night, maintaining proper related paperwork including bed check forms, progress notes, and Incident Reports
  • Responsible for ensuring the general upkeep of the residential living area by doing general housekeeping. This includes cleanliness of common areas, including but not limited to, kitchen, dining area, living rooms, halls, patio, backyard, laundry room, office areas, client's personal areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, dressing areas, etc.

Other Functions:

  • Act as a positive role model for clients and staff.
  • Demonstrate appropriate behavior and speak positively about colleagues and programmatic areas.
  • Display enthusiasm and willingly perform duties requested.
  • Complete training requirements and required documentation.
  • Contribute to decision-making and support teammates' efforts.
  • Be accountable for agreed-upon responsibilities.
