Housby Mack is Hiring an Installation Technician Near Des Moines, IA

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Location: Des Moines, IA
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
PRIMARY PURPOSE: This position is responsible for assisting in the installation of various bodies, fenders, lift axels, as well as custom work per customer needs.

FOCUS:
  • Assist with the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Install and/or remove lift axles from units.
  • Install new fenders, cab protectors, toolboxes, hitches and custom deck work on all chassis.
  • Mount dump boxes, water tanks, and other components as needed.
  • Properly dispose of any fluids upon job completion.
  • Clean work bay when projects complete.
  • Promote safe work habits and ensure that safety rules are followed.
  • Maintain a professional image at all times.
  • Expected to follow the Company's safety rules and safety policies.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools, such as hand tools, drills, and saws.
  • Experience with 12-volt DC wiring.
  • Ability to read and interpret installation instructions and diagrams.
  • Valid Driver's License and dependable transportation.
  • Must have an eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
  • Ability to operate a forklift safely.
EDUCATION:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to view a computer monitor.
  • Strong oral and written communication.
  • Alpha/numeric keyboarding.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, walking, and reaching for extended periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • The work environment for this position is varied due to the differences in our work site. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic and outside weather conditions.
  • Works indoors and outdoors.
  • Noise level is usually moderate to very loud.
  • May require some evening hours and weekends, when needed.
