Job Title: Kitchen Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Overview: The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food preparation and hygiene, and leading a team to deliver exceptional culinary experiences to guests.
Reports to: Restaurant Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Supervise and coordinate the activities of the kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
· Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and quality according to health and safety regulations.
· Schedule staff shifts, manage workloads, and assist with hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
· Manage inventory control, order supplies, and negotiate with vendors to ensure the kitchen is stocked with necessary ingredients and equipment.
· Monitor the kitchen’s financial performance, including budgeting and cost management.
· Resolve any issues related to staff or guest satisfaction in a timely and effective manner.
· Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and functioning properly.
· Lead by example by maintaining a professional demeanor and providing hands-on support during peak times.
Qualifications/Skills:
· Proven experience as a Kitchen Supervisor or similar role in a hotel or high-volume restaurant.
· Culinary school diploma or equivalent hands-on experience.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Knowledge of best practices for food handling, sanitation, and safety.
· Familiarity with budgeting and cost management.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
