JOB TITLE: Bartender

REPORTS TO: Food and Beverage Director

JOB SUMMARY: Operates bar area, focusing on preparing and serving drinks to guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Prepares drinks to order using proper portions and ingredients for guests, cocktail waitresses and dining room personnel
• Operates cash register, gives change, distributes checks, keeps accurate record of change transactions.
• Requisitions supplies, fruits and beverages necessary to stock bar.
• Moves cases of beer and alcohol for service to customers.
• Maintains a respectful control over guests at all times
• Is trained in Alcohol Awareness program and assists in ensuring all servers have received such training
• Assists in maintaining bar stocks. Responsible for cleanliness behind bar, storage space and equipment
• Resourceful with all beverages, fruits and supplies in order to maintain reasonable liquor costs.
• Maintains good customer relations in a courteous and professional manner
• Performs other related and unrelated tasks as assigned by management

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Environmental Conditions: Inside: Protection from weather conditions.

Essential Skills: Requires knowledge, skill, and ability in mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and knowledge of ABC laws and Alcohol Awareness program. Requires skills in money handling, filling out orders and requisitions. Requires effective communication skills with staff and guests.

Educational/Vocational Preparation: High school graduate or equivalent mandatory. Bartending certification from accredited school and/or one year bartending experience (additional experience may substitute for certification if state law permits). Must be 21/18* years of age, comply with ABC regulations, and possess a valid health card (where necessary).

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $9.00 - $10.00 per hour
