Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Office Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our medical office. Your primary responsibilities will include providing excellent patient service, managing medical scheduling, and performing various administrative tasks. If you have experience as a medical receptionist or dental receptionist and possess strong organizational and communication skills, we encourage you to apply.
Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries
- Maintain patient records and update information in the electronic medical records system
- Assist with medical billing and insurance verification processes
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Assist with inventory management of office supplies
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or dental receptionist is preferred
- Proficient in using dental software such as Dentrix or similar systems
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff members
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of phone systems and ability to handle high call volumes
