The Job:
We're looking to add a full-time Venue & Catering Sales Specialist to the team. This is a sales position responsible for selling the venue and in-house catering services at our well-known creative event space in Orange County, The Harper.
Primary Roles Responsibilities:
  • Field and convert inquiries for weddings, social and corporate events.
  • Drive sales by outreaching, prospecting, and helping build brand recognition and venue awareness.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual site tours.
  • Customize proposals to meet each client's unique budget and vision.
  • Guide clients through the booking process.
  • Adapt to the challenges and walk clients through the process of booking future events responsibly due to Covid-19.
  • Work closely with the Event Production Specialist to ensure all booked clients are handed over seamlessly.
  • Meet or exceed weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual budgets set by the Director of Revenue.
  • Participate in weekly meetings.
  • Cultivate industry relationships with partners and vendors.
  • Open and close the venue, helping keep the Front-of-House pristine.
You may be a good fit if:
  • You have 3 years of experience in sales, required.
  • You have 3 years of experience in catering (on- and/or off-site), required.
  • You have a sales mindset and a sense of urgency.
  • You're a clear and effective communicator (both verbal and written).
  • You're familiar with the B.E.O. process.
  • You're passionate about hospitality.
  • You can work independently, manage/prioritize a full workload and respond to all communications in a timely manner.
  • You're comfortable with cold calling and prospecting.
  • You're proficient with Google Suite.
  • You have a gracious and generous approach to business.
  • You have reliable transportation and a cell phone.
  • You're coachable with a willingness to learn and open to feedback.
  • You have experience with TripleSeat and AllSeated programs, not required but a plus.
  • You're multilingual, not required but a plus.
Salary:
  • Compensation is a combination of base salary and commission.
  • Base salaries range between $40k to $45k DOE.
  • When the commission is added, annual compensation for someone successful in this position would range from $55k to $75k annually.

  • Medical insurance, 401k program, paid holidays, vacation and sick time, casual and fun working atmosphere.
Other Details:
  • This full-time position will be based out of the Costa Mesa venue.
  • Monday-Friday 9 am-5:30 pm. Local travel required - minimum 1 day per week, up to 20%.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays depending on the event schedule.
