As a senior member of the surgical team, in addition to traditional Vet Tech duties, you will be actively involved in:

• Leading a clinical team and maintaining flow
• Training new clinical team members
• Working with doctors and leadership to continue improving hospital flow and productivity
• Client education
• Performing pre-surgical diagnostics
• Post operative patient care
• Rounding with the doctor on cases using learned knowledge
• Leading appointments

Requirements:

• Licensure in New York State
• Strong record-keeping skills
• Good understanding of drug modality and usage
• Comfort with young and geriatric patients
• Comfortable training technicians and directing them properly while giving helpful feedback
• Ability to effectively run CPR and a knowledge of life-saving drugs
• Highly evolved organizational skills
• Experience leading a clinical team and maintaining flow
• Experience with training new clinical team members

What Would Be Ideal:

• 4 years of experience as a licensed veterinary technician
• Anesthesia skills
• Surgery experience
• A desire to pursue VTS
