Must be a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA or test-ready). If test-ready, Hospice of Northwest Ohio will pay the cost of the test if obtained within first 90 days of employment.

36 hrs./week, 7p-7:30a every 3rd weekend

• Provides basic personal care to patients as delegated by the RN and included on the Hospice Aide plan of care.
• Answers call lights promptly and follow through with patient requests.
• Prepares rooms for new patients.
• Meets safety needs of patients and uses equipment safely and appropriately.
• Assists patients at mealtimes including but not limited to ordering, feeding, and tray distribution as assigned and defined by the Hospice Aide plan of care.
• Provides basic skin care to prevent breakdown of tissue over bony prominence and reports observations to the RN.
• Observes patient’s conditions/symptoms and reports observations to the RN.
• Assists in ambulation and exercise as delegated by the RN and included on the Hospice Aide plan of care.
• Assists with bedpans, urinals, colostomy care, and catheter care.
• Assists with personal laundry and light housekeeping related to the patient care area.
• Provides emotional support to patient and family.
