Position Title: Part-time/Full-time Medical Coder 
The Coder Technician must possess a sound knowledge of medical coding guidelines and regulations including compliance and reimbursement to better handle issues such as medical necessity, claims denials, bundling issues, and charge capture. Experience in Part B billing is required.
Duties:
  • Processes data in the database for hospice patient records.
  • Part B Billing.
  • Maintains the patient's hospice medical record.
  • Prepares correspondence associated with medical records.
  • Maintains record of comprehensive billing forms and changes in level of care.
  • Completes discharge analyses and discharge summaries on all patient records.
  •  Researches medical records and coding related to the aspects of new services.
  • Understands and uses anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology required to correctly code professional provider services and diagnoses. 
  •  Integrates medical coding and payment policy changes into reimbursement processes.
  •  Enter all CPT and ICD-10 coding into the system timely and accurate for code capture.
  •  Confirm all documentation required for coding is complete and meets required regulations.
  • Performs other work duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
  • CPC Certification.
  • MUST have at least 1 -2 years of coding experience.
  • Must have experience in Part B Billing.
  • Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding.
  • Extensive Data entry experience.
  • Ability to utilize various computer software systems.
