POSITION SUMMARYThe ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly motivated individual and will have a demonstrated track record in manual machining, as well as CNC machining experience. The candidate will have a proven track record of training, developing and growing a manufacturing team in a fast-paced high mix medium to low volume production environment. The production machining supervisor is tasked with leading dept. on the following items: Employee training & development using manual and CNC equipment, employee scheduling, internal job routing and resource scheduling, process development, CNC programming and setup, selection and procurement of tooling, and manufacturing equipment. Skills, Experience and Attributes required to be successful:Self-starter / highly motivated individual with strong decision-making and communication skills.7-10 years setting up CNC lathes utilizing automatic bar feeders.7-10 years of manual lathe and manual mill experience.5 years minimum programing 2-3 axis CNC lathes.Fanuc CNC Control experience required.Expert in G & M machine codes, and CNC program syntax structure.Macro B or parametric program logic experience a plus.CAD (solid works) experience a plus.Must have experience using MS office suite: “Excel, Word, Power Point”Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to analyze and solve diverse manufacturing issues or problems.Understanding of (GMP) good manufacturing practices – 5P’sStrong listening and communication skills.Ability to provide verbal instruction as well as develop and create written directions, work instructions, or procedures for machining processes.Some experience using ERP systems.Ability to sharpen machine tooling as needed.Ability to select proper cutting tools for machining tasks.Perform and train employees on machine maintenance.Must be able to read and interpret basic blueprints and drawings with some GD&T ability.Highly Skilled in use of inspection instruments / tooling / gaging:Tape Measure, Scale, Caliper, Micrometer, Height stand, ID bore gage, Radius Gages, Machinist compass, comparators, etc.Perform other duties as assigned. COMPETENCIESAnalysis and Problem SolvingCommunicationDecision MakingPlanning and OrganizingSafetySelf-ManagementValues, Trust and IntegrityAdaptability/FlexibilityLeadershipQualityInterpersonal SkillsRelationship ManagementTeam EffectivenessComputer SkillsPerformance ManagementCoachingConflict ManagementEmployee Development PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSWalk up to a ¼ mile at a time.Bend, squat, reaches as needed.Have good vision/corrected to 20-20Good Hearing and finger dexterity.Must understand and speak English.Sitting, standing, walking, lifting and/or carrying objects up to 50 lbs.Environmental requirements include working indoors in a high noise level and humid environment.
