POSITION SUMMARY

The Weld Cell Operator will be responsible for fabrication of metal hose assemblies and corresponding components, utilizing automatic welding equipment as well as various hose prep and finishing equipment.

Weekend Shift: 6:00AM - 6:30PM, Friday - Sunday.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITES

• Read and understand sales/job orders
• Work in accordance with tolerance charts
• Learn various hose assembly configurations through oral instruction and observation
• Verify cut-length calculations
• Stamp/etch ferrules as required per order
• Set saw and track for cutting
• Crimp and cut hose to length
• Expand and trim hose
• Inspect assemblies for quality compliance
• Pull fittings and stage orders for welding
• Setup flare machine (tools and weld program software)
• Trouble shoot and analyze weld settings
• Visually inspect completed welds to determine compliance with standards
• Use of various measurements and inspection equipment
• Make appropriate repairs to assemblies that do not meet standards
• ASME Section IX certified welder upon training (Manual and Automatic)
• Weld in accordance with all ASME Section IX requirements
• Verify orders for correct quantity and configuration
• Testing of assemblies using automated test tank and manual hydrostatic testing techniques
• Buff weld discoloration
• Tag assemblies as order requires
• Package assemblies
• Complete paperwork for certifications
• Maintain daily production logs
• Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self and others
• Work cooperatively and jointly to provide a quality product
• Ability to react quickly to change and handle other essential tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to understand and follow English instructions

QUALIFICATIONS

• Basic welding experience required.
• Manufacturing experience preferred, but not required
• Good basic math skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, Overtime if possible.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Will be standing approximately 100 percent of the day
• Good vision - required for welding and visual inspection
• Must be able to bend, squat, twist, and kneel
• Ability to use hand/power tools
