Horsepower Site Services is Hiring a Heavy equipment technician Near Salisbury, NC

Heavy Equipment Lube / PM Technician

Under the general direction of the Equipment Manager, the purpose of this position is to perform preventative maintenance operations to keep equipment in top working condition.

Lubes all construction equipment and other motorized equipment located on job sites. This position is responsible for preventative maintenance (PM) service and lube system repairs on heavy construction equipment and to support all equipment fueling operations.

Performs related work as required.

Responsibilities and Duties :

  • Required to operate and inspect machines / equipment to gain access for lubrication and PM services.
  • Ability to review and understand the PM intervals and schedules.
  • Self-motivated, responsible, reliable, and willing to work in all weather conditions and environments.
  • Positive attitude and work ethic along with excellent communication skills.
  • Safely operate drive and maintain company lube truck.
  • Continuously research and learn as required to improve knowledge and abilities as machine models change.
  • Demonstrate safety 1st attitude.
  • Identify and report near misses .
  • Report unsafe acts or misuse of equipment.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are in place such as MSDS, placards, fire extinguishers, and
  • warning lights are in place and operational on all vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with all local laws, regulations, Company rules and Group policies.
  • Perform routine lubrication and preventative maintenance operations on all on site equipment.
  • Maintain accurate account of all petroleum products at all times.
  • Ensure all equipment on site is lubricated at the designated time to ensure uninterrupted use of the equipment.
  • Maintain fuel-lube truck and all equipment in fully operational condition.
  • Accurately records equipment number, hours and or miles and all products dispensed.
  • Maintain personal tools and company owned tools.
  • Accurately complete all associated forms such as lubricants inventory records, and
  • time sheets.
  • Demonstrate team attitude, and works to attain individual, division and company goals.

Skills and Qualifications :

  • GED or equivalent and 1 to 3 years of related experience or combination of training and experience with Caterpillar, John Deere, Komatsu, Volvo, etc.
  • Ability to comprehend safety, service, and parts manuals.
  • Able to climb in, on, and around equipment, be flexible for awkward reaches and positions.
  • Must be able to bring / own tools.
