HORIZON CHRISTIAN ACADEMY is Hiring a Teacher/Assistant Teacher Near Chester, SC
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a high school degree or equivalent education, at minimum.
- Submit to various background checks.
- Be willing to become First Aid and CPR certified.
- Complete a Tuberculosis (TB) test.
- Have a current statement of health signed by a doctor (form will be given to fill out)
- Be mentally and physically capable of caring for children alone in a classroom.
- Be able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull and carry children up to 60lbs.
- Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of each child by responding to their emotional, social, and physical needs as well as their educational needs.
- MUST be flexible and available to work any 8-9 (with lunch break) hour combination between the hours of 7am and 6pm
- Utilize developmentally appropriate practice and best practice methods at all times.
- Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations.
- Be a positive role model for all care giving staff, children, and families.
- Be customer service orientated and professional.
- Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development.
- Appropriately supervise children while always keeping them safe.
- Assist children with activities of daily life (restroom use, diapering, hand washing, etc.)
- Participates in scheduled staff meetings, parent conferences, in-service training, and continuing education workshops.
- Create and maintain an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children and staff.
